Diaspora Youth Empowerment were extremely humbled and grateful to all those that attended the London Marathon to support the First Lady HE Margaret Kenyatta who completed the marathon to help raise money for the Beyond Zero Campaign which will help mothers and children thrive-whether urban or rural, HIV+ or not and understand challenges to maternal, newborn and child health.
Kenyans sang proudly as we celebrated our elite athletes who came 1st 2nd and 3rd place in this years Marathon. We were also honored to receive an exclusive opportunity to sing and welcome HE President Uhuru Kenyatta who came to support his wife after she completed her run. Both the president and the first Lady were greeted warmly by those women, children, youth and leaders here in the Diaspora. Many Kenyans were humbled to have him in London.
Thank you to all those that contributed towards Donations for the beyond Zero Campaign and to the cheering squad that ensured that Kenyans were celebrated and felt supported. Diaspora Youth Empowerment would like to say thank you to Daughters of Kenya for enabling us to mobilize Kenyans throughout the United Kingdom to enjoy such an important moment in our history as Kenyans.
