Phoebe Ruguru is currently studying her A-levels. At the age of 17, she has established great interest in film-making, screenwriting, and leadership. Only last year, she won the Unchosen Film Award for Best Young Filmmaker, after receiving two nominations. She is a very active student, being involved in charity projects, as well as campaigning for Amnesty International in her sixth form school. Being a student leader, and senior prefect, among other roles, Ruguru has been drawn into global affairs, which has triggering her determination to study International Relations and Anthropology in university, later this year. Her hobbies include: writing, reading novels, debating and watching films.
